Tunnels?
Really?

Typically they aren't wires. These are threaded rods
with turnbuckles in the middle of their length.

As a "youth" i explored all the buildings on the old side, some have connecting tunnels.

I did part of my internship there back in 1980, when the place was still open. I can remember how dark and depressing is was back then. I still go past the place every now and then. I cab still remember the screams.

Does your son have a tag name he goes by? I've given away at least a dozen flashlights to teens in there that went in without one. I try to be cool to folks of all ages in there. I was only fourteen when I went into the Byberry buildings that used to be on the edge of Parkwood on Townsend road back in 1982.
LITERALLY, ONE FOR THE AGES, MOTTS!

I absolutly love this picture. It's beautifully taken and I can really get the feel of it.
My son "hang's out" in Byberry and while I am sure there is "partying" going on I believe he and his friends are there simply to explore....who wouldn't? I know in my teen days many of the mansions were already abandoned and we too explored everything we could. I do have to say all of you are pretty brave;-) I think it's time my son get a digital camera for as much as he's in there;-) He could tell/show you a thing or two also;-) Have fun guys!!!!! GodDog, Radical Ed....you guys rock!!

Well, I'll jump on the bandwagon, too - I would love to have one of those! And no, I won't sell it either

Then I can go around and show it to my friends and say "Look! I have a -button- from Byberry!" and they will be like "Wtf?" because they don't understand my fascination with such places...oh well, their loss.
