I thought it was just me who got the creeps from forlorn wrecks and especially "what lies beneath", but it seems others do too - a primal instinct? This shot is especially unnerving...like I'm going down with the boat! These shots are absolutely fantastic...thank you for sharing them with us.
OK, I'VE STUDIED THIS SHOT FOR A GOOD LONG TIME. NOW, I'M READY TO SCRIBBLE...CLASSIC!

I know he is a photographer of morbid things, but I don't get the dare itself, Why would it be risky to email him this shot?

Hya, ~Me! If you look on the net, it appears Mr. Witkin is a photographer of the morbid. Dead bodies and parts of dead bodies seem to be popular subjects of the artist. I guess, some people are into that sort of thing. It could induce nightmares for me, if I delved too deeply. I will just stick with our Mr. Motts. He makes me happy as a clam!

Autism (formerly childhood onset schizophrenia) can entail obsessional behavior - sometimes relating to calendars and dates. This is heartbreaking to me as I know 2 children who obsess this way.

I think I might want a print of this for when I'm wondering if I'm actually helping anyone - but it hurts too....

I was thinking that the baseboards are for wheeled things. If you got too close to a wall, you'd slide back to the middle before you actually bumped the wall.
