@feather - yes they do. I went to a low-budget private Christian school until 5th grade. 2 pledges every day; one for American flag, one for the Christian flag. Two selected students per day unfolded/raised and lowered/folded the American flag flown on the pole outside the school. I still remember when it was my turn.

So many thoughts running through my mind looking at that chalkboard. Did the teacher and class know this was the last day or was it a surprise? (I assume at least the teacher knew) How do you keep order and study focus on a day like that? And in what kind of crying hurry do you have to leave that the chalkboard isn't erased?!
