You don't want to hear how I really feel about things? :-)
I kayaked with a friend from the Rahway River on July 4th 2003 to this place. AMAZING adventure! Does anyone know of photos or info. related to the old graveyard of ships/barges along the Hudson River off of River Rd. in Edgewater, NJ that existed in the early to mid-1970s. Arson/fires destroyed it all by the late 1970s. As a child, my father and I would go crabbing there and I could explore for hours! Please respond if you have any info. THANKS!
Thank-you, thank-you Lynn. Some one finally gets it. I'd almost given up hope. Your last comment scares me though.

You would think someone would take some time and keep a building like this from such a state...
In my town, they demolished a historic prison (The Ohio Penitentary in Columbus, OH) to build a arena. The wouldn't even preserve the original building. Really sad, considering the beauty of that building.

Rachel- It is totally natural to be more creeped out by the image of an empty casket. It brings mortality into sharp contrast.
It also, makes one realize that someone, somewhere in a building wrought with inhumanities, that someone really tried to give them something decent at the end.
We all have to remember that not everyone who worked in these facilities then were bad, horrible and cruel people. Sadly, it's the bad stories we remember because they are so prevalent.
Incredible shot, Motts. That is now my walpaper for my computer.
Such a shame. Those would be great restored.
Sweet. I could so totally live there.

Stunning. I see the tree as a protector in a way like a guardian not menacing.
When I moved into a new house(though it was old it was new to me) I would be sleeping and i would wake to hear a faint scratching and the left foot of my bed. The odd part was that I had just moved in and my bed was in the middle of my room. So out of cuirousity I would chec what it was once I was awake it would stop after going for about 30secs and noticed i was awake. Then shortly after ticking would stop my old old TV would turn on every time 5 channels about what I turned it off at. I would turn it off and then TRY to get back to sleep. and sometimes I would triumph. Other times I would a scrathing out my room door(it lead to outside) and i would check and it would be gone and nothing there. I have moved out of that house and am fine now but i lived with that for about 6 years. I am now 15.
