My question? Why was this old mental asylums made similar to old gothic structures and castles? Why not a plain ordinary looking hospital? I love the designs though because these old abandoned asylums makes good ghost stories!

Those small doors mystifies me. Why were they there for? It looks similar to a laundry shute! Maybe this is a patient shute, they would slide the unruly patient down the shute and into a padded room...now that would seem like balls of fun! Slip sliding away!
