The tubular objects at the top - center and right - center are fuses, with the blade end they would be 100 + amp capacity. These are a rebuildable fuse, meaning when it blows it can be taken apart and the fuse element replaced. We have some of these around the shop where i work, but from what i understand they are no longer available as the wrong capacity element can be put into the wrong housing, creating a risk of fire or eqipment damage.
My guess is a child traced their hand then got creative in the palm area. Remember the turkey handprints from 1st grade? You traced your handprint on construction paper, then cut it out. The thumb was the neck and head and the fingers became the feathers. I think there was a layer glued on top for the body. That's my guess.
I don't think they are for baking bread as too much heat would escape from the opening (if im viewing this correctly)
I go with Lynne's thoughts here, but I do agree they look like incubators for chickens ... it would be interesting to know the history - if they did any sort of farming there.
i work in a locked unit and we have many dementia pts. they do hold onto the bed rails in fear..tonight a pt came up to me grabed hold of my shoulders with a grip as if she was going to fall off a cliff.with tears in her eyes she opend her mouth as if to scream.but as hard as she could try she could not make a sound ,she was screaming in her mind but the pathway to vocalize it was gone.the sheer terror in her eyes at that moment as she looked at me ...i now belive there is a hell...i can,t even emagine haveing a pt go through something like that in a lonely steal cage.
It is creepy to me that people have sadistic ideas like this all on their own and then assume that all staff will have similar ideas and then actually carry those ideas out.
First time I went they didn't tell me what the drill was. So I was kinda pissed at first with all these chuckleheads getting up on the stage, blocking my view of the movie. :-)
One of the absolute kewlest movies ever, huh? And that gorgeous Brigitte Helm! The film was made in 1926 and was supposed to take place in the year 2026, which is kinda freaky the closer we get. http://www.geocities.c...itte_helm_images.htm
