Contrairy to popular belief, Old Maintenance was NOT the first building to be built (or at least started). C-9 was started in 1910, C-13 (old laundry) in 1911, Old Maintenance obviously in 1913, C-3, 6, and 12 in 1912, C-1, 5, 7, 11 in 1918, C-2, 4, 8, 10 in 1924, C-14 (infirmary) in 1932, and Old Administration in 1922.

I wonder if someone would have a picture of this room in it's heyday of opulence,and chandiliers? I really like those before ,and after pics .Nice Picture I might add.

me and my friends went in side like 100 times i know the place like the back of my hand there is a tunnel that connects that buliding to the main hospital

I don't think it is Andy. I think it was cotton candy, a reference to the great 50 cent sale.

From the looks of the brown mass on a stick, I still think 50 cents is overpriced.

I know that this is really pretty late in the game. But the other building in the back that you speak of, was a children's ward.

Thats the building my mother was working in back in the 80's when my family had just moved to Worcester.

She was given a tour before the fire wiped out so much. I regret her memory doesnt work the same way as mine.

She does however remember that there were still chains like you'd expect for animals down in the tunnels that linked the buildings.

My father who was also given a tour, spent his time in the Air Force running a psych ward, and was also offered a job at WSH when they moved up here.

From the people who worked there, the round buildings had held cages suspended from the ceilings in the beginning of the hospital's life.

Anyways, late in the game, but still, I do love this site, especially for a better look inside our hospital. I've only been in the outer most buildings.

i found electricity on there too. but i think it was in a different building. we even saw trucks pull up to certain bulidings and people go inside. im not sure what they were doing. there were brand new satellite dishes and sky lights.. can anyone explain this??

well odd things like that should be expected at a place with history like letchworth.there were a lot of horrible deaths there./ they energy is seriously ... disturbing

yes they train local cops there shooting paintballs and other types of weapons.

i talked to a police officer when i was visiting..he said local cops train there. they do shooting excersizes with paintballs and real guns. he hinted at us to stay out of the buldings..

i went to letchworth last month. in this area i found it spray painted with "enter and die" etc...
is it local kids?or a serious warning?

i found what looked like fresh blood in one of the buildings. i have pics to prove it. any opinions?
