I like the way the stairs seem to welcome you to a hotel or some place fancy. They look Velvet covered. Almost like a ruse to say this is a warm inviting place.

When I worked/lived there as a child, the wonderful ol' place would never have been allowed to look so unkept. I spent many hours here, wondering if I would ever get to leave Millbrook, and now I sometimes wish I never left. My dad's spirit walks the halls of Bennett, those are the voices everyone is talking about! Don't piss him off, you won't like him when he's pissed off!

I used to work there summers on the paint crew and groundskeeping crew when my dad worked there. He worked there from the age of 16 until Bennett's untimely demise. I have lots of fond memories of the place. I can be contacted at croosa@cfl.rr.com.

Stayed in this corridor for a LONG time

This is an old freight elevator that I used to ride in with my dad when I would go with him weekends sometimes to work. It was cable operated and the cables went through the "car" itself and had to be pulled to get the elevator to start.

That chimney has a cap on it and probably has more than one flue. The "cap" is to keep weather and wind from downdrafting the flues.
