So, Pat, you have a close connection and history with this school. You should consider yourself lucky that you got to experience being a student there. Friends of Halycon Hall -- have to look them up. It is a beautiful building and, as with all of the other treasures, is a tragedy in waiting. I can certainly understand your frustration!
Knott's Berry Farm was my stomping ground when I was a teen, but that's another can of worms.
In Westboro Mass far in the woods is the crematory, we stumbled upon it by accident one day walking in the woods. Its for real because the ovens are still there under ground
actually i was refering to a composiite of individuals who have angrily confronted
anyone they see attempting to look at or even photograph even the exterior of Halcyon, legally from a public road.
my affiliation with the school is complex.
i attended art programs here as a very young child. as a teen after the schoolclosed this property was my stomping grounds, a local rite of passage. i am researching the life and
work of the architect of the building. i
am descended from some of the original investors in the hotel in the 1890's, my family also having been a client of the architect in other building
ventures in millbrook. i was a charter
member of Friends of Halcyon Hall, a
preservation group that got this building
listed on the state and National Register
of Historic Places in the early 90's. i
generally just love this building, it speaks
to me as Art, just like Mott's photos...
Hi Janice,
I couldn't join the forum because I was doing something with the idenitifacation number wrong. I'll talk to Motts about it when he comes back from Europe.
Anyway I couldn't post a comment but I read yours about the old mansion. Spooky stuff!
I never really believed in ghost but I do suppose that out of all supernatual forces they are the most likely--I mean who knows what the human soul is capable of?
Awhile back I became fascinaited by ghost photos and started looking them up. I saw nothing which really got to me until I saw this:
You know, I generally hate vandalism with a passion, but I don't mind it in this picture for some reason. To be honest, it reminds me of a carnival. I don't know why.
remember the brazillian clinic when they left the isotopes in a machine and kids got it all out and took it back to thier village and shared out the stuff to thier friends and they played with the "magic glowing stuff"
i can see patients wondeing around here lost in the saddness of time. i think about there familys and how they felt. they may have differant feelings about this place. they are prolly all gone now.
this pic says to me i am like a court case and the judge puts tape over the best witness's mouth and wont let them speak. danvers is speaking dont u hear it
