Oh wow. My childhood amusement park.
I remember when my dad, brother and I went there to find it closed. 1996 it was. So it been ten years since I seen this place.

I remember I got freaked out on one of those rides. It spins as a whole but the seats also spins.

Neither Lynn or I have ever said that institutions were not bad at one time or another. If you want to make up scenerios about the different pictures you are looking at ,knock yourself out. However, I will step in now and then to defend my point of view whether you like it or not. Most of the comments that are left are just plain ridiculus. Sorry if you don't like hearing the truth once in awhile but tuff shit.

This is so "weddingy" and almost cheerful! It is almost like one of those shots the wedding photographers set up with the bouquet.

The pic from the 70's, and those students were about 18-21 years old, so that makes them in their late 40's-50's. Of course Many are alive!

Who the heck picked the colors for this place over the years? Must of bought rejected paint lots.

I remember in my ramblings in the the Great Smokey Mountains coming across some lichen that was very much this color. It is eerie how close in color the paint is. It looks like a whole room covered with the stuff!

The idea that the chair is facing away from the reflection pool and towards the window says something to me. It's like an inability to reflect upon the past and future and only living in the present.

I am really interested in Kirkbride buildings. Does anyone have any suggestions for a possible thesis topic that involves Kirkbride buildings as the subject? I think it is awful that some of these gorgeous buildings are being demolished!
