Motts, I have often thought the names of different places in England were creepy. Since my husband is English it has been the topic of some of our conversations. There is a prison in Manchester called Strangeways. It had an execution shed and a permanent gallows. I do agree with you that the names of the asylums sound great with them being abandoned. By the way, I am loving the pictures from your trip abroad!

I work in Purchasing and I still order Honeywell items from time to time. Durable stuff. If they cleaned it up it would probably still work. Did you notice that the words in white on black are from one of those handheld machines that you plotted out the letters, pulled the trigger, and they were pushed into the plastic? I can't believe they are still sticking there! I have one of these machines and they don't seem sticky enough to last this long.

Is it just me, or does it look like there is a person standing in the first big window from the left...? CREEPY.

I love the maroon and sky blue...I would've never thought to put them together but it works wonderfully. This place could've been made into something amazing (but then we wouldn't have these fantastic shots from Motts).

Looking at this picture, I can't believe its in an asylum. Who could go crazy in a lovely place like this ;)

This shot looks like the scene in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" where the little aliens are starting to come down out of the ship.
I'm not saying Mr. Motts and crew are aliens,lol, and hope I don't offend, it just struck me funny. I have a weird eye and even weirder sense of humor.

Many asylums there had some creepy names to me at least - Hellingly, Severalls, Cane Hill, Netherne... kinda cool sounding now that they are abandoned though!

It was very sterile... most of the hospitals in England seem to emit this feeling in my opinion, I suppose I will hear other views in the future galleries and see if you guys agree.

Perhaps it was the renovations, or lack of equipment and objects that drive the feeling of people having lived here that cause this...

This is the Cadillac of tubs! I realize that this was in a hospital setting but I can't help but imagine soaking in something like that with a good book and soft music playing.
