Love the shade of blue.
Such a shame when they leave places like this, but again, there't that beautiful sunlight coming in!
The bright light and haze coming in through the windows are so weirdly calming to me.
This place is a mess

I agree. Halloween is my favorite holiday but I cannot stand all the fake haunted house. Being a paranormal investigator, it makes a mockery of all we try to prove is real. Scaring children may seem like fun and harmless but when these kids grown up and they might live somewhere that is truly haunted, well, what are they going to remember about ghost and spirits. Not to be intrusive on those who don't believe--I respect everyone's opinion. End of rant..

But, this is definitely one heck of a place that I'd absolutely LOVE to visit. It is horrible the things that went on there but I believe the building is being preserved (not just for the cheesy haunted house carp).

WOW! A new gallery. Your series on Pennhurst are some of my favorites. You capture the facility, frozen in time, with it's scary history, with an air of dignity the former patients deserve. Turing this place into a cheesy Halloween spook-house is just disrespectful.

Yup, there's a slot where it retracts into the wall... nice catch, I hadn't noticed that!
