Only the future will tell, but I see beige pre-fab condos being constructed on those prairies already, which is quite disappointing.
It's a shame but soon Detroit is going to be nothing more than prairie land. By the time they finish demolishing all the abandoned buildings, and with many people fleeing like rats off a sinking ship, what else is left? It's unfortunate that any American city has to go through this.
There's a common joke in the asbestos business that those asbestos bags are the best place in the world to hide a body, because once they're sealed and tagged, there's not a chance anybody would ever open it, lol.
Been a fan of this site for years but been away for a while. Now that I'm an asbestos supervisor...I cringe, lol

This looks more like the lobby of an old theatre than an office.

This type of architecture truly is a lost art in my opinion. I'm not saying by any means that today's architects aren't talented..I believe they just don't have anything to work with. Everything today is done as cheaply as possible, and results in basically crap buildings. It's such a shame. They really did build things to last back in the day.

Dumb question..was there a wall to the left of the staircase at one time? Or is there a staircase that was there at one point? Dumb..I know!

Those radiators are just like watchdogs; guarding the old building so it won't be torn down...

Someone tried to steal the marble? Looks like enough for a nice kitchen counter is missing.

Not sure if they actually got rid of all the asbestos & radium 266 if they left plastic bags all over the place. Or are these to contain the blood splatters?

Inquiry minds want to know.

Nothing beats lawn darts for children's toys. Except maybe the old school lab sets, complete with radioactive goodness. Or, maybe the wood burning set. When will we see a tattoo set for Barbi?
