I would have been freaked taking this pic, worrying that someone was gonna rise from the tub.

That building is #25 and it was renovated in the mid 1990s, now has AC and all the modern amenities. It looks rough from this view, but if you were to look at it from the other side it is a magnificent structure and will be in use for many more years.
Also, Bldgs 81-82-83 were renovated around 1999-2000 and in fact an addition was just built on the west side. A new powerhouse, much smaller, has replaced the old one which was shut down in late 2004. The upper (coal furnace) sections of the old powerhouse were abandoned in 1984 when the oil burners were added on the north side extension. Many of the buildings on utility road WILL be preserved so PLEASE don't damage anything!

Just wanted to mention that this really reminds me of the session 9 scene that shows the wheelchair.. This whole shot is pretty scary.

Thanks Mott's for the pics, now that the place is almost all torn down now we never would have got a chance to really view this place again.

Just surfed into the site...My father was a doctor at the Philadelphia State Hospital, that's what we called it, and he used to take us to the dentist there when I was a child. Believe it or not! Actually the dentist was a very nice guy and used to make little plaster turtles from a mold to give out. He also used to give me mercury amalgum to play with, which turns out wasn't such a great idea. The dental set up in the photo looks very stangely familiar...although I assume the office I went to was in the old, C-14 building. I live in CA now and it is VERY strange to me that there are people who risk their life and limb exploring these old buildings. I don't mean to be harsh, but I think your time would be better spent visiting the elderly in nursing homes or volunteering to help people in need.
