Shiney , like new!

It was definitely an awesome pool. There were 2 diving boards, one low and the other about 4 feet up. There were pink and blue lights on the sides of the pool, below the waterline, that were used for "Midnight Swims", during which only some of the room lighting was used. I was a lifeguard here in the early 80's. Winter, with a newly fallen snow just outside the huge galss walls, was amazing as well. I remember teaching sr citizens to swim, some of which were concentration camp survivors. Listening to their stories was great. There there were the singles weekends, high school and college trips, which could get a little wild!!! The Pines was a truly unique experience, a part of my life I wouldn't trade for anything.

Asbestos, if stable, is quite safe. Disturbed, and in particular crumbling asbestos is the dangerous stuff you don't want to play with. From what I read, the AntiCuriositySeekers are blaming the CSs for disturbing the stuff in the first place, the Curiosity Seekers are saying the damage they've caused is insignificant compared to the power of The Force. You're pushing shit uphill if you're trying to blame collapsed water sodden ceiling tiles on a CS, sure they've probably done a lot of damage and helped expediate the death of the building, but an decrepid building with asbestos is going to give you grief someday. As for the illegal handling and cost cutting, get factual information you can back up, wild allegations only discredit your cause when they cant be substantiated.

Hopefully those burning asbestos aren't dumb enough to stick around watching the bonfire, if they did, they're lives after 40 aren't going to be pleasant for them.

This was a great place with a lot of history. I would like to see pictures of the locker, training, coaches and referees rooms. the entrance from the locker room to the field would be a great shot. Just imagine the ghost that roam here.

I like this photo a lot., I'm surprised nobody mentioned the window. It looks so bright and hopeful, while its surrounded by scorched and torn walls. Almost like a window into the past of what this hall once was...
