They seem larger because they are so spread out compared to some of the asylums in the US, most notably the "skyscraper" structures built on Long Island (Kings Park, Pilgrim, and Edgewood). However, I haven't dug deep enough to find the maximum patient capacity / population during the most busiest years to compare with the data from the US.

asbestos is harmless when it's wet,,,we all are upset that the abatement contractor on site has yet to use any water at all....we know this because we watched and video taped it for the EPA in the auditorium.

The lamp is dented on the outside and the light is reflecting off of these "dimples".

Isn't it interesting that in capturing this lamp Motts that you have inadvertantly captured the degradation of the structure in the background? It reminds me of a surreallistic painting.

All these buildings look structurally sound for the most part...it's such a shame they're being torn down. I want to live in one. Like this little house...that's not that little...haha.

This reminds me of a little daytime cafe, or a polite bed and breakfast. It resembles nothing to me of a mental insitution. I like that.
