Ok... My apologies right away. I have been consumed with this site for the past few weeks, and adore it! I have also been reading (tons!) of the past comments submitted... Lynne, as many have commented, the knowledge you have shared is wonderful. My interest in mental health and my actual profession (ugggh, HR, well, you might need some insight to mental health when dealing with employee relations right?) differ a bit, and in my research on the history of mental health, there has been derogatory info regarding staff. It is refreshing to hear the other side of the story. I am very appreciative for your willingness to share your experiences, and knowledge, oh and, I did see a couple of requests here asking you to write a book... I too would love to hear more of your stories/experiences. Sorry...
Sorry, didn't start out to post this as a tribute to Lynne <g>, but after a few weeks of reading some posts, I needed to share, and express my utter displeasure of reading arachnidher's incessant questions and request for comments. Sorry. I see one of these, and I cringe, knowing what comes next... If anyone has any questions or comments, please email me at; katiep@yaddayaddayadda.com
Ah, thanks Felyne. Frankly, having once worked as a mechanic this 'mild profanity' doesn't trip my metre off.
OT RANT! DON'T READ! (you were warned)
As for 'upsetting the Christians here', the more that can be upset the better. As a Christian myself I feel a good number of 'us' need a good thrashing with a metre long cluestick. The 'conservative religious right' needs a good swift kick is the nether-regions. Sometimes I feel so very ashamed of my affiliation and what is said and done in it's name.
Hey Mathue, Motts upsets the Christians here: *edit* its not letting me post the url, go to the mainpage for this particular gallery at look at Seclusion Room 3.
Personally I think his haircut is far more offensive than his language.
There's nothing 'photoshopped' about it! The 'floating' as you put it is because the wheels are well up inside those huge legs. Some traction beds will actually retract the wheels so that it sits firmly in the floor (this one the feet get cranked down). As for the lighting in the room, you're forgetting that this isn't direct light! Photoshopped indeed! Hey, you know they faked the moon landing right, you can tell by the light and shadows ;)
Keeping power on keeps people out, reduces street mining and keeps the ventilation system working. It's cheaper in the long run then letting it deteriorate and having to fix it up later.
iwas there and there are clearly people there that dont want anyone invadng thier terrratory . they are friendly and will warn you when you have gone too far
Power is often kept on to discourage street miners from stripping out the copper. Places like this get power at a bulk rate, what it costs is less than the labour of watching for looters.
You sure the ghosts just aren't people in glowing masks?
Sorry folks, I've been in many places where there are supposed to be tortured spirits, whether infants, children, ordinary schmucks or solders. Only thing I heard was wind, creaking timbers, furry animals or even machinery (in active buildings). But I've never seen anything to make me believe that there's ghostly bodies haunting the dark corners of the room.
Trust me, there was plenty of truth in your comment. :)
And besides, Lynne deserves all the tributes she gets!
