Olive Estey was there literally for freakin ever. Dr Hagopian became Superintendent eventually. I went to school with his son.

here is another annual report for danvers state dating 1924. check out page 8. it talks about a particular patients struggle and sad demise. these reports are pretty interesting i think. you should google or yahoo them. i've found various years out there.

The morgue was in the building behind the main building off of payson rd. It is in the basement and was accross from the theater building. The old fridge that is pictured was broken long before FSH closed so they added a new 2 drawer model. The first year that the Foxboro Jaycess did the haunted house we tried to move the newer unit to use it. We were not able to get the right equipment so it stayed where it was. This part of the hospital was being used until 1991 so most "Kids" stayed out of it as they did not want to get caught.

Fire was contained to one building. Most of the rest of the buildings are gutted already and will be apartments and condos. The new building in question "The Dexter Building" was demolished and is now an empty lot. The 2 buildings accross from it were a matched pair of buildings. They were employee housing one male and one female. The opened a childrens museum in one of them years ago. They are now gone as well and will be the new "Public Safety" building for the town. The theater is staying for future use. They have 2 great old 1930's carbon arch projectors in it as well as the original seats in the loft area. I am sure that everything in it will be gone as well.

I lived in Foxboro for most of my life and have been in every building many times for many reasons. My farther worked at FSH when they closed in the 70's. The laundry was in a building that was not attached to the complex. Laundry was in the back lot near the old rail line that brough in coal. It was the building next to the chapel and next to where the Patriots later practiced. This room was an administrator room originally and held not an operating room though. The only operating room in the hospital was in the main building on the top floor.

Byberry is now fucked beyond recognition. There are only three buildings left that haven't been touched by Geppert. In other words, there's absolutely nothing left.

Motts was this a small facility? Did you have a little bit of history on this place?

Did anybody happen to catch that Celebrity Paranormal show? I watched it once and it was an episode about "Mad Ray" who was in the Warson Asylum for the criminally insane and he haunted it and stuff. I looked it up online and it was really called the Norwich State Hospital. So it makes me wonder if the Mad Ray and the other stories they told where true. I can't find anything online about it :( Which is how I ended up here.. researching the Norwich State Hospital. Your pictures are beautiful by the way :)
