I recommend going there if you can...drove by on 12/24/06 and was actually shocked at how much more overgrown the property was. There must be some amazing relics inside there...definitely free for the taking if you have the balls to enter.

The deal with Utopia fell through, thankfully, but the city is looking for another buyer. I've been in this one a few times. At one point, I had a satellite photo overlaid with a map of the tunnels, but that hard drive has since crashed. Very spooky place.

OK Lynne, if thats how you feel, fine,. But let me tell you i know for a fact that the places like this are not guarded because of fear of theft of old keys or telephones, the owners or cities have the guarded because they fear someone will get inside, get hurt, and look for a lawsuit. The guarding is only to protect themselves from a lawsuit brought on by someone sneaking in for whatever reason.. Yes vandalism is a fear among abandoned places. Its a shame that people go around places like this and set fires, have paintball gun wars, break windows, and spray paint graffitti all over the place. Its a shame those who have done that have ruined it for those who just want to take pictures and yes maybe a souvenier that no one would possibly miss.

very interesteing to view them in this perspective. I find thinking of the men, who
worked these ships,and the stories they could tell. Very nice job, something for all to enjoy Thank You.

great pics. I was wondering if you guys knew that some of these pics have been used in a flash animation (along with other creepy photos and sounds). Its pretty creepy. Was it someone here, or did someone get permission to use the pics, or did they just take them?
