i dont live too far from the park most of the buildings are still there infact i ripped off one of the letters "h" in house of horrors and i have it hangin in my garage but man all i gotta do sis close my eyes and i remember every square inch of this place

Actually the carosual was at the dels lemonade stand on plainfeild pike right near the landfill kids used to ride it but i think the sold the horses seperatly to people

Its disturbing to see the grafitti artists have desecrated the site. I honestly do not see their need to leave their scribbles everywhere. It is disgusting.

I worked at this facility in the early 80's. It is quite interesting viewing these photographs after knowing and working with students/ residents, how these pictures come to life for me.

great photos. There has always been something that attracts me to old ships left to decay. Perhaps it is the mystery that they retain within their rotting walls that holds in the many secrets of their pasts. If you are interested in this type of subject, there is a sunken light ship in Lower New York harbor, in Red Hook Brooklyn. It's name is lightship number 84. It was left to rot there by an owner who could not afford to care for it. It has sunk within the last few years, and all you can really see are its masts sticking out of the water. What is awesome about it is that it is located next to an abandoned grain siloh, which makes the entire landscape, chilling yet beautiful. you should really chec it out some day, with your talent I'm sure you'd snap some great pictures! click the link below!!!

ladyhawke04008, why would you need to rake snow off a roof? When it melts it'll just run off and before that it'll provide extra insulation, no?

I am still in shock at discovering this site. I absolutely love old power plants, and found/explored a few myself. This by far is the most amazing one i've seen, and the condition of it is what i'd consider to be mint. Keep up the awesome explorations and beautiful photography.
