I worked in this hospital when it was open and patients used to hide behind the organ. It was pretty hard getting them out!

Well from what I rember it was the room next to the morgue, MAYBE it was used to drain the fluids from the bodies....???... And yes it was disturbing....Not to mention when you first see it in the dark with the light of a flash light........

There was one room I remeber that had a pile of pill bottles sitting on the floor.....

Hell... when I ran around that place there was a deer hacked up and speard troughout the buildings....Sick people.... Makes you wonder why they even closed the place....

I have always hated ferns for some unknown reason.

That painting of the flowers looks like the cheap kind of painting's that are found in the hundreds cheap motels throughout America.

Those two extra large snowflakes hanging from the ceiling somehow seem to overshadow the would be Holiday activities.

They are very out of place.

it's much cleaning than i remember when i went in there also. there was also far more graffitti when i went i think

I enjoyed looking at the pics & reading your comments, I also like photography but that wasn't the reason I stumbled across this site, I was searching the area as I just bought a house next to the hospital which the NHS sold in 1988. One of the comments by big Ed mentioning asbestos worried me a bit, have I missed something there and does any of you live locally who can give an insight about the area/development, I am hoping to move in this June07.

The first thing that I think of is that this door could lead to a Retro - 1960's Coffee Shop for a bunch of "drugged - out" and "burned - out" old hippies who still cannot find their way into the modern world of the 21st Century.

You can still find alot of these old hippies in Nothern California, Oregon and Washington all along the Western Coastline.

Some of these old hippies still live in tents and youth hostels. I have picked - up several of them hitch - hiking along Highway 101 and dropped them off at their designations to include buying them something to eat like sandwiches, fresh fruit and vitamins.
