LENNY!!!! LOL, its pat bro, yeah they havent torn all of them down yet, but they boarded a few of them up, that morgue is really creepy when you're in it, the whole building is. DO NOT GO INTO THE SERVICE TUNNELS!!!! part of them are just wrecked but the rest are really freaky, even during the day they are dark and its like being in a scary movie...

Wow, it brings back all of the memories of me and my friends being idiots and doing stupid things in the abandoned buildings by the power plant, there was soo much cool stuff just laying around, actually found an old gas mask... lol

But ALL of the Enchanted Forest has not been forgotten!
Many of the original figures and structures were saved and or given to Clark's Elioak Farm, which is just down the road from this original Enchanted Forest!

The farm has just opened for their new season!
This year they are VERY proud to be able to unveil to the public the original Little Toot boat, Humpty Dumpty, the Merry Miller's House, and Willie the whale!
While Willie was being relocated he broke apart.
But! His original frame was saved as well as his tail and tongue.
A local artist used these pieces to recreate a replica of him.
He still needs to be painted, but from what I hear he looks wonderful!

Papa Bear that you remember sitting in is at the farm, as well as the three bears cottage, the old woman's shoe/slide, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and many other EF favorites.
No, it wasn't possible for it to reopen on it's original soil, but this IS the next best thing! : )

This is directed to Tim Jones. I use to work at letchworth and I personality worked with Bruno. and his one eye. I remember a true story. Now I don`t know if you remember when the State Police had a Barricks in Stony Point. It was where the Spoon River Reality is Now. Bruno called the state police and stated that he had been in an accident. The asked him his Location and it was in front of Kirk Bride hall Well what had happen the state police went there and saw the car and asked him where his car was and he pointed to a steering wheel under a car which had pulled in the spot where his steering wheel was. When I worked with him. I saw the wheel and i asked him why don't you drive any more Bruno his reply was Herb the maintenance Guy took his Keys...LOL

The Picture is of the Office of the Senior Stationary Engieer If any of you people happen to live in or near Stony Point and most of you are,then you must be familiar with Reservoir Road. As you drive down that every once in a while you will see an elderly man walking his Black Lab Dog he is most likely wearing sunglasses. His name is Lowell He was the man in that office. He can give you all the history about that power house. And if lot of you road the bus to school with the Haverstraw Transit then alot of you may know a guy by the name of Mr. Ryker He lived on Gurnee Ave he always had the bus there. Well he was also a person with worked in that power house.

This Boiler used #3 heating oil which was like TAR it was so Thick. What would happen is it would be atomized with steam which would come in on the light colored line on the right and the fuel would come in on the left the steam would be about 500 degrees (notice I said STEAM) it would make the fuel oil very thin when mixed and then would burn. The Steam out of these boilers would power the whole area it would give heat to the buildings during the winter. heat and cook the food in the food service buildings. There are miles of Pipes under the ground and when it would snow you could see the pipe lines they would be the tracks that would have no snow on them. Those days are long gone Now I am a Computer Geek

It is sad that today's generation of children will never know these wonderful places like Enchanted Forest and Rocky Point Park. These parks had a lot of charm. Too bad they are just a memory......

It's hard to believe they would destroy most of that building; it could all have been converted to apartments like the center 1/3 is now. I just came from the Avalon Bay webcam and noticed that the scaffolding around the tower. The webcam is in the rear of the building, and the view of the tower is not so good. It would be wonderful to see some photos from the front of the building. The new roof is on the building now and it looks exactly like the old roof. From the outside the building will look like it did in old times.

I use to work in this Boiler Room I started a a helper and was moved to ass't Stationary Egnineer. This picture was of the #3 Boiler off to the left of this was an office which had all the controls for all of the boilers. The components all had gold plating back then. The had to get the office Air Conditioned inorder to keep the controls working properly. The was the only area that had air conditioning.

I reminise ( spelling) about the days back when on a staurday night we all would go to byberry for a good time. I loved how the cops never came in after us just waited outside for us and then persued us!! I miss this place
