In many cases the Mentally ill were put into "tubs " of ice....as a calming process when they became aggitated.....I would submit that is probably what your "strange room" was.....I would also submit if some one was gonna force my fat one into a vat of ice cubes while tied in a rubber sheet.....it would take several of them to GET IT DONE>....in other words it was accepted at the time as theraputic....when in reality it was punitive.....

I've noticed many people comment about The Shining (Original). While the actual sets and filming were done at Pinewood Studios in England, the actual designs (including the great hall) were inspired by the Awhanee Hotel in Yosemite National Park. When you walk into the front lobby, you swear that you've actually walked on to the set of the movie. Creepy but an incredible experience......

ok. my opinion on this whole note thing is that its one person locked inside, but that one person has split personalities. So that is why it seems liek 2 different people and also the same handwriting.........but thats just me. anyone else agree??

This room resembles some of the asylum rooms seen on the site. I love the square of shag carpeting. That adds a real touch of class......
