Does the platform rest inside a giant room down there, or are those dark spaces all around it shallow? Makes me think about I Am Legend when he stumbles into a nest of those ghouls...!!

It's sad that these beautiful buildings come to what they are now, that no one cares enough to restore and preserve what little bit of history is still left within these halls.

To bad this place couldn't have been made into a private residence like a home, or cleaned up to be a working hotel once again, or even a Bed and Breakfast complete with antiques. Could you imagine how much space you would have to get lost in this beautiful place? Amazing! Too bad most of these places are being re-desinged and made into condos, while other old structures like this one are simply being demolished only to then make way for a parking lot, or a shopping center, or more condos. I love old buildings, especially reading up on the history of them too. I love the lobby picture most of all, very beautiful designs on the large collumns and on the railings of the second floor. Reminds me of lost elegence of a forgotten time in history that is often overlooked nowadays. Nice pictures and wonderful website by the way, keep up the good work.

Could it have been a room used for greenery or some sort? Seems the logical conclusion with so many windows and the counter top. I'm thinking like a roof-top garden room, in a way.

omg Motts, I love your pictures so much! they are amazing! Glenn Dale is my favorite abandoned hospital, so I enjoyed these pictures very much. I must say this might be my favorite picture of Glenn Dale. It does look like someone ran and jumped out the window. What's kinda weird is the first thing I saw in my mind when I looked at this picture was a girl about 12 yrs old (that was a patient there) that ran and jumped out the window and almost died! It was really weird. But it was only in my head.
I really badly want to go to Glenn Dale but i don't think I will ever get the chance. Who has been there before? How cool is it? I bet it's really cool.

toured this site today-snapped forty pictures-didnt meet up with the old man-but... some picture were pretty intense, we seemed to have captured some unexplained energies-and neither of us spook to easily-would love to know of a solid way in.
