I like this shot a lot, but I find it a little unsettling because you can't see the ground. Kinda like everything is floating...

They are temperature control gauges - the nurse or attendant would stand behind the meshed structure and control the water temp and pressure. A closeup can be found here and some discussion about communal showering here (both are from an older gallery).

This Chapel would be beautifull if it was restored. I would love to play J.S. Bach on the Pipe organ inside. With all the famous people buried here it makes you wonder why they would let it get in this condition.

Dette what would you do with all the rapists, murders, and child molesters? They are put in these places because they were anything but "humane" to others. Why should they be treated better than their victims? Chris Rock had a better idea of what to do with them, check it out.
