Other than the peeling paint and floor, this pretty much has been standard layout for all of the hospitals in which I've had the pleasure to work. Many of them had door pulls just like this one.

...forgot to add to my last comment - with this kind of view, I think I'd just about live on this bad-weather terrace.

Bad-weather terrace, what a great idea. They tried to think of everything when they designed this building.
Beautiful picture.
Beautiful terrace.
"Ohhhh, you cold out there? Have a warm blanket." Life was so full of considerate kindness back in the days - we have forgotten...or never known....
.

Or may be food.....naw.....
Food was presented on hot plates, on trays, with a special cover to keep warm. It works very well, indeed.
What a view! Very good picture. How did you do this?
There is the Chimney - looks like a little House with windows.
The Building is so handsome; can´t understand why is not fixed up for Beautiful living; Big light lofty rooms, lovely grounds and so close to DC. Glenn Dale is a pretty name, too.
It does NOT make ANY sense. Not at all.

Remember after second period we would get a few min break from class and the Father Director would hold mail call in that center hall. Always looked forward to mail from home. Also along that left wall was a cork board where they would post news articles of the day or week. I was there from 1967-1969. No mass media ...cell phones... instant texts ect. lol thru those doors to the right was a old phone booth. I remember looking forward to making a Collect call to my parents every couple of weeks.... after you had permission to do so from the Father Director..... basically he was the Principle. Sad to see the building go .... great memories and great friends were
made there.
