First I love how you captured this.
There were alot of boxes full of poly-styrene clam shells for food. Boxes and boxes full all up and down the walls in the hall. We were destroying a bunch of paint cans the idiots were using to tag everwhere and we as stupid kids decided to blow up the cans with a small fire and a BB gun. Well it became an inferno rapidly. The people involved all felt horrible, we saw byberry as our home, and from then on never damaged a thing..
There’s all kind of stories about letchworth. My father started there in 1972, and I started in 1987. Make sure you have all the facts because there were people that resided there and families that will take action there’s still a state law called (HIPPA) and if you film and show names and not knowing the true facts the state will probably prosecute.
I work on the old Manteno State Hospital Grounds, and the building I work at is fairly new and I close at nights late at night you see or things that aren't there it's kinda creepy but interesting me and friends are going to go exploring the grounds and area next week after work...wish us luck...
I went to the school upstairs. I remember a teacher who used to read palms on the side. I don't remember much of the schoolwork though. Must've done it but don't remember much of that. But I wasn't behind when I went back to public school after. So it must've been ok.
I wouldn't say I'm haunted by my memories, but they do pop up in my mind at times. And I find these photos so .. I don't know ... they make me think and remember and relive somehow. Not in a bad way, but in a reflective way. As in, look at where I am now after being locked in there.
