I guess the vandels just came through there and took all those windows down and smashed them up. I wonder what they get out of doing that? I guess I just can't understand why people do that or the thrill they get of destroying things. It'll never make sense to me .......
Since the resort was never completed, I doubt that there would be any parcels or letters in there. At least not any that weren't put there after it was abandoned, in hopes that some other urban explorer would find it.
So far as I know, ECT is still performed as a part of some mental health regiments. However, it is done with a lot more discretion, and typically requires full consent of the patient or the patient's guardian. It is not just being strapped down and shocked. As to whether or not it was being performed at Danvers in 1976, I would not have any knowledge. But it is in use today in certain medical settings.
joseph its funny you said that they actually done experiments or some kind of new therepy at the time my g-maw worked there.....a lot of bad things happened there.
Thank you Mr. Motts and all commenters. This has been good for me.... where I was and where I am now..... still alive!!! As always the way out is the way through!!!!!
Just a couple of comments from an old projectionist: If I am repeating something stated elsewhere forgive me. The carbon arcs are still used in some theatres that use reel to reel (2000 feet) projection and not platters. Every time you strike an xenon lamp you lose ten hours life so you need platters or 6000 or 9000 foor reels. The exhaust pipe coming off of the peerless Magnarc lamphouses vent the burning carbon and copper gasses out of the booth. I'd be happy to answer any questions regarding the older machines/booth operation.
