Whoever designed it should have designed water slides as well.

This place must have been a sight to behold in it's heyday, it's still beautiful today, such a shame it wasn't preserved.

Awesome job capturing the feel of this staircase, I almost feel as if I am there.

Motts says this was like... one of 20 wards. So not all 8000 would be in here. Although the idea of more than 100 living in here is still pretty hairy.

This composition is off the charts, way crazy cool!

It all begins with Mom and Dad, if there are no morals and values taught, no sense of respect for beauty or other people’s property ingrained into a childs thoughts, senseless acts of stupidity result.

Beauty of the scrollwork and broken windows aside, I really like how you captured the daylight spilling down the staircase.

seeing their living face lets them live on, you know. Even if their kin has forgotten them, we will now remember.

i went last night and everything is boarded up because they are tearing it down in the fall, we tried to pop off on of the boards near the "childrens" ward and i swear on my life i and my fiance heard what sounded like a small boy singing to "music box" type music. i think that was the first time i almost peed my pants since entering adulthood lol

the first thing i noticed in this picture was the heart in the bottom right corner..
