Hey motts. Me and a friend went hear a few weeks ago, just taking pitchures of the outside. After reviewing them i noticed we caught what looks to be a ghost standing in a window looking straight down at us!! U can see everything waste up on the thing!!. Sooo creepy.. i just noticed it ten minits ago and my arms are still shaking!

Almost looks as if there are lights on in the windows on the left... creepy.

I vaguely remember one being in the Keystone building; I couldn't really light the shot as the flashlight would have drawn too much attention by the National Guard base next door.

Do you have a picture of the dental chair that they used ot pull the teeth out of patients. I know they showed it on tv on Ghost Adventures. Love that show by the way. :)

I live in Foxborough. Those buildings have always scared me. Once, when I was like 6, I was playing the playground right below the building and we were telling scary stories about things that happened there. Once most of my friends left, my friend Bailey and I went right up close to the building. There was a tree there and Bailey went to go sit. I looked up and stared at the building for a while, wondering if the rumors were true. After a few minutes I started to wal away, when something caught my eye. I stopped and looked back up. When I saw the disfigured, pale face staring back at me I was terrified. I turned and ran to Bailey. I pointed to the window and she caught it turning to leave. If you ever see a ghost, you cant help but to be terrified. Just thinking about it, I'm looking all around the study, all freaked out.

What a story these photographs and website tell. All the years in the 70's and 80's when I drove by these abandoned buildings and wondered what history the walls held, maybe I didn't really want to know. I'm glad to now, less then 24 hr's from 2010 read and see some of the history. May we live and learn and never go back to this again, and may a guiding light lead the ex patients and employee's to a healthy, peaceful future.

I grew up in northeast Phila, drove by these vacant buildings in the 70's and 80's, aways wondered about them, there sorted history. Now not till 12/31/09 did I find this website, learn more, see this pictures, how very frightning and all that time I did not know. I hope a bright light shines above every patients and employee that ever spent time in this facility and wish them peace of mind. I'm sorry for the labor, brick and mortor that was needed to build such a facility, that we ever needed it to begin with, and that such effort could not go into something that would be standing 300 yr's later and admired. I am greatly moved by the history and the photos I've seen.

Me and my friend have been there a total of 2 times ( so far ). But have never gotten in!( well sorta).... The 1st time, we had no issues with police, we walked around the place took pics, and even had a chance to go inside the kitchen area, that is exposed. This place smells terrible!! and is completely overwhelming. The only way i can explian it is just to go into a dirt basement, and multiply that smell times 50.... Btw, there is a fence now around the place, and if ur planing on jumping it, plan on bringing bandages, lol. My arms were cutt.... But back to my story, we definitely got sum activity there. As soon as we got there, were herd footsteps from the inside. We sorta just ignored it, and walked to a different part of the building. But.. We starting hearing them again?? Except they were getting louder and louder! As if they were walking toward us... We were a bit freaked out, so we walked to yet a different part of the building.. And we herd the same thing there 2, we could hear them start of slow, and far away, and get louder till u could hear it outside the window on the 1st floor, then my friend so a shadow in front of a window, and we booked it.. That was no person, idek what it was.. But on are 2nd trip.... We got there, and imediatly looked for a way in, and we found 1... As we started climbing 2 the 2nd story window, ( my firend was on my shoulder's ), i herd something 2 the left of me, and it sounded like something running toward me.. And this is the scary part... There was no wind, but i saw leaves moving as if somthing was runing staright at me, but there was no1 there... So we got scared and ran away. But went back 1 hour later. BAD MOVE. We got caught by a man with his dog and ran away, and by that time there was a man ( possibly a police man ) on a motor cycle at the entrance, witch we had 2 hide till he left. At that moment we made a last moment dash to get outa the place, when a police car got us.. CAUGHT.... Yep, every1 just take my advise, and stay away from this place. Its not worth it, 1st of all. And 2nd of all, there are things there, that obviously don't wont us there.. the police check there hourly, and residents do call.

First item in line is TOBACCO? Wow, how times have changed!!

Apparently this place has been remodeled and turned into apartments and condos. They did a wonderful job and the residences are beautiful BUT I find something very uneasy about living in a place that once may or may not have been home to such horrors as patient mistreatment or death. Although I'm not afraid of the supernatural, I often wonder if any of these new residents have experienced anything "unusual" and if the new owners are having any difficulties renting based on what the property once was?

what a shame we let our public places get like this. the economy in michigan has gone to the potty now, too, so I don't see any way out for this beautiful old building in the future =(
