I’ve lived just off Letchworth property almost 10 years now, and have been on the property numerous times though only in reoccupied buildings. Since I am in my thirties now and married with children, my days of venturing off into abandoned mental institutions are over (and I did do this as a teenager, though not here). I have been aware of the reputation this place has for being haunted for a few years now, and must agree the buildings do seem creepy, especially at night. My son attended school at both the middle and secondary schools on site, and I just recently noticed the power plant that looms eerily down the road from the school’s parking lot. It indeed looks spooky even in broad daylight. I must admit, the adventurous teenager inside me yearns to explore the insides of these buildings. I am happy to have found this site, so those of you want to risk arrest among other things can do it for me.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the pics...Like i said I'm not a photographer but the images are pretty decent...I'm waiting on some heads and a torso so I can model my military gear and gas masks...The masks would be appropriate for this thread but I don't want to hijack his run...
I would not have done it if Motts had not given his permissions...So I thank you Motts for letting me link into your run here...After the heads come in I would be more than happy to show off my collection by dropping another link to my Picassa album...
I'm currently not happy with the way the archived pictures are so I refuse to show them...
Motts, you site is completely awesome, you have the best sets I have ever seen and this one is by far my favorite...
ebolavirus, Thank you so very much for your link! This is truly a fine collection and i hope others will take a look! Its been truly a pleasure to read your comments that serve to educate us on these subjects!!!

well I have to go one better on Rich DE2-1649 (wierd how things stay with u, when rich mentioned 2401 ur # popped in my head) yes Dairy queen was the "jump off" either coming or going to the ranch . Jimmy Adducci owned Red Top Lodge just outside Wallkill always said Baccahla he passed from cancer he was a teriffic person spent alot of time with him and his family growing up. Frenchie started with us named my dog after him (with his permission of course). Lynn did the A circuit toby my oldest sister was more the intellectual went on to be a teacher . The Burger Cottage as I remeber was between our house and the New Main house not the pool bungalow next to the bbq pit that overlooked the ring and hunt course. If you remeber Frenchie do you remember BoB who was the janitor and Judy who handeled the office.. Damn the more you talk the more of the little things come back who woulda thought
Many members of my family were employed there. The hospital in it's "hey day" had a full working farm and dairy and bakery. Extra goods were sold to the public. The grounds also included their own power plant. Why the state was close a self supporting institution is beyond comprehension.
