Yeah Dave, a friend had one of those space-dash Chryslers in the family. One of coolest dashboards ever made! Our neighbor had a matched pair of late 50s Mercuries that were two-tone pink and black from the factory. He kept them both in impeccable condition. He loved those cars. And hated little kids. (Me) :oD

This has to be one of the most depressing areas to ever have to take a @#$%.

Once an active jail cell that housed angry, violent, vicious criminals for years is now a last refuge for the most desolate and hopeless of our population.

The suffering goes on....only now it is not the criminals who are tormented but those that society has turned their backs on.

Yeah, it got too cold so I stopped sleeping in there.

Just think of how many men moved through this prison since the 1830s.

The concentrated aura of despair and hopelessness is sure to project paranormal activity.

If I may clear the air on these: I rarely see these and have only seen them a few times myself. I know exactly what they are. I had seen them advertised in a 1940s "Motor Age" magazine, a trade magazine for auto service stations. Believe it or not, these were sold as a urinal for women to use while standing.

My only encounter with these in person was at the Del Coronado Hotel in San Diego, (California, USA). The rest room had been marked for men when I saw them. Having been aware they existed and never seeing one, It was a rare treat to piss in such an odd piece of hygiene history.

I see the locals are having fun...judging by all of the empty beer cans.

It is very very sad to see such a historical building being so neglected and now inhabited by Crack Head and Winos.

I suppose you would have to be drugged or drunk to want to live in a empty prison cell.

I would be out of luck, well of course at the time these were built if you were a leftie, they beat you until you became right handed. Left handed ness wasnt accepted.

For abandoned detures they're actually quite clean =P

In the museum here there is an entre dentist office set from the 20's. The leather in the chair is almost white in the most "seated" parts. But the drills aren't at all as creepy as the syringes. Man, those were huge, angry metal syringes.
