I visited the site recently. My dad was the head gardener many years ago and we lived onsite. The Hall in those days (1950's) was immaculate . Dad had to keep the terraced lawns in pristine condition as the bosses had their offices in the Hall !
So sad to see it now, please don't let it get to the stage where it cannot be restored. It must be close to that now

The painting does indeed look like one that K. D. would have painted. I worked there in the early 70's as did my parents. My parents were very good friends with K.D. and have several of his painting to this day. He was a attendant nurse, and he painted pictures like this over the hospital walls.
I was a student nurse from Church Home and Hospital there in the 70's we stayed in a building on the property there for 3 months women's locked ward no longer there due to asbestos and men's open ward columns were there and still are
A GoFundMe for the stuff you need to get the site up and running again is a possibility. I would sure donate to that!

Try stretching your hamstrings and calves. I used to get pain in my foot from wearing shoes with heels. It wasn't until I remembered the injury to my glute and started trying to fix what I was always told was congenital and unfixable that I figured out the foot pain was due to over tight hamstring and calves. That was an accident that I happened to notice the foot pain go away when I stretched. Now I wear heeled shoes all the time.

How does one go about locating a grave? My great-great uncle died here. He fought with Jackson until he lost an eye. He died at Western State in 1889. I would love to have a stone placed for him.

Thank you Motts for all of the photographs and keeping everyone
informed of what has happened to all of these buildings
throughout the world.

Through all of your photographs you have given everyone an insight
into the mental hospitals that most people would never have a chance to ever look at. The life of these poor people who lived here was very sad.

You do not try to "sugar-coat" your photographs.

So thank you again !

I just right clicked the photo to open it in a new tab. I don't have a very big monitor so I see only part of the photo, or I have to scroll around or reduce the page magnification to see the entire photo. I wasn't trying to take it, as the pop-up message implied. I was just trying to get a better look.

Hi Sandy,

Yes, I think they do. It is called a night splint. There are some other fabric /elastic braces you can wear during the day to help keep your foot and ankle straight. They are all non prescription items. Call around your local med supply companies.

I had it too 10 or so years ago. What completely cured it was having massage therapist friend of mine work on my foot. There are legit therapists out there but you have to search for them. Your Dr. may be able to recommend one. You will need some very deep tissue work on the tendon. It is going to hurt but it is worth it.

Good luck, I hope you can get it cleared up
