they are used for many things. here we no longer use them for puking we have these lil bags attached to round like peice that fits over your mouth but being that its in a TB hospital it could be used for anything for them to spit into all the way to the doctors using them to hold stuff. they are called many things emises is the i would call it professional name kidney dish or bowl is the laymens term. because of the shape they are used for ear draining and such it is an alround multi purpose object and i think that was what it was made for
Extraordinary! I really liked this. It makes you realize that no matter how different cultures and policies are, the legacy man leaves behind him when he departs is eerily the same all over the world. Sometimes more beauty can be found in the abandonment than what could be had during the habitation.
I have worked in 2 hospitals that had Easy Street. We used it quite often. Ours had the car, bus stop, cafe table, bank teller window, grocery store, efficiency apartment, curbs, ramps and stairs. My biggest accomplishment in my 17 yrs as a PT, was transferring a C5 quadruplegic, over 6 ft tall, with a halo into a car like this using a slide board going from wheelchair to front seat. What a feat!
Enjoyed seeing your photos.
I remember driving by in the early 70's and seeing the inmates in the yard. (I was about 17) That building definitely made you want to never be in trouble. The new prison ... not so threatening. Prisons that look like this should come back to punish those who commit crimes against other people - and to help scare the young to go straight!.
where exactly is this? im a photographer and im going to be going to kppc soon and ive been hearing about a lot of different buildings and rooms with great stuff to shoot. if anyone knows anything about this or any other rooms, feel free to email me. it'd be appreciated. thanks!
