It sounds like a good idea, but I think false impersonation might land one in deeper trouble than just shooting photos... you might wind up throwing your innocence right out the window and tacking on an additional misdemeanor to the possible list of charges if caught.
It can get a little funky in the warmer months, but nothing unbearable. The really stinky places are the ones that have no air circulation at all (boarded up tight, some basements, etc).
Yes they had horses all the years I went there! I was in the National riffle Association at the range to the right of the tower when coming out of the main building there and got to Bar Three Sharpshooter. I was the best swimmer there in 1976 and also one of the best archers,we did a lot of arts & crafts in the cantina that red open air building going toward the lake. we use to change into our swim trunks in the old buses near the lake and have sleep outs with a camp fire there! On that Site that I got the picture they say they are tearing down all the buildings to build something and that its haunted! I just had a bad night trying to sleep after thinking about where I was an alter boy had swastikas painted on the chapel walls!

hi Mario, I read the comment you wrote about Camp Salesian
I never realized how weird the history was for the Goshen Camp, I was a camper from 69-76 at least 6 weeks! When Nixon resigned we heard it over that horn on the tower!<salesian tower 2.jpg>
In 1952-53, there were still organ pipes on both side of the stage (and maybe more), but I never saw or heard a pipe organ in use when I was there. In that time, Tome Memorial was used for the US Navy as their Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS).
I used to work for a psychiatric nursing home and I have seen this one other place. It was used as a restrictive measure for patients that were violent when there was not a special segregated area for the patient. Most places stopped doing this because of the risk to patients being left alone in a locked room, fire, and other factors. It made sense though as they had toilet facilities and such.
It's been several years since this photo was shot & this thread began. Great conversations & debates read here. Simply breathtaking dome & glass. But I wonder if this is still here today. I hope so.
Need to get shirts made up stating you work for an abatement company... built in excuse for being their with you camera. Make up some cards for an added touch and you are good to go.
I think these are called "cell phones" Sorry, I couldn't resist. I thought for sure one of you witty people would have beat me to the punch on that one!!!
If this place is to be torn down, I wonder how one could possibly purchace some or all of the staircase sections. What a cool way to access a tree fort for my daughter!!! Any thoughts?
