This probably wasn't so horrible when it was well-lit. Maybe the staff was trying to make a "sunny" place for children to play when they could not go outside, either due to weather or disability?

Motts, I just came across this website a couple of days ago and I cannot stop looking! Your pictures are beautiful: excellent composition, colors, framing. There is something truly fascinating about urban decay. It is amazing how fast it happens, too! Keep up the great work so that we can share these intriguing sites with you without risk of arrest! Yoooo.... This place is scary as hell. We recently shot a music video there and we were superrrrrr scared. After a while we got comfortable, but just be aware of some SCARY stuff, thats my best advice to anyone who wants to "explore" this place. Smdh

nice shot! that pic looks like a very long exposure in a very dark room!

i went to a "hospital" yesterday to take pics. so much fun! some of the tunnels were so dark i had the exposure set for like 12 seconds.

mmmm! popcorn! lol

i know right? lol i have 4 12" speakers in my trunk

I really like how bright the picture is, but if you look at it another way you can imagine a dark figure waiting at the bottom.

The trees surrounding the jungle gym make me feel very intimidated. Well done! You've captured the full spirit of the place in this one.

Oh, for those who have posted after 2006, the building was demolished (2006). By 2007, the entire place was gone. Just a reminder... But I wonder what happened to all the documents???

These look interesting to look around at what kinds of papers these are (records maybe?) just to be nosy, and it kinda looks interesting, maybe until you actually look at the papers and don't find them to be exciting.... but I definitely do agree that these papers should be RECYCLED! Whoever left the place seemed irresponsible to just leave them behind.. smh..
