Yes - it is simple mathematics - flat made into curve to fit body - a lot of fun & skills in good patterns. Quite beautiful indeed. Collars were very important back in the days
Wow. I bet this old fridge still works. These old babies used R764 as their coolant, and was very efficient than the R12 or R134A freon that we use today. Would love to power them up. and see if they still work, I would bet they do if they have not been destroyed in any way.
Wow this is a cool machine. Would love to have this, but I feel it may be a little too old for my tastes as I try to collect medical equipment from the 1980's and 1990's and a little bit of the newer stuff. I am surprised another collector hase not scarfed this up.
Man. I want these 2 chairs. I love collecting hospital articles. Have a lot of IV infusion pumps. patient monitors. and even my own Hill Rom Hospital Bed that I sleep in every night, it has a memory foam mattress that I put on it. I got lots of these items from eBay, and a few abandoned hospitals here in my area. Do you happen to know who owns this place, I could get in touch with the owner, offer them some money for these 2 chairs, and have a shipper pick them up, and send them to me. I did a similar thing with an xray machine that was in an abandoned NY hospital, got in touch with owner, he told me to make him an offer, he had someone go in remove all of it, and I arranged a shipper to ship it to my house. Xray is not active or hooked to power, just mounted on my wall for looks. Only thing that is powered is the control panel, but now power goes to tube, as I have no primary power connected to the tube power supply transformer. See is these chairs are still around, they are cool colors, and would compliment my make shift hospital room. I have autism, so that's why I love all this stuff, would love to be a repair man repairing medical equipment for a hospital someday. Thanks. Shawn.
@eldokid nah, it didn't look like the power was on. Plus it's all old knob and tube with who knows what nesting behind the walls - a good way to start a fire.
Now that you mention it, I don't recall seeing any indoor plumbing like a bathroom, tub or kitchen sink, but it's been a while. Maybe there was an outhouse out back...
@eldokid Yes, although they were more common for larger purchases. I found a bunch in an old hospital that were all hand-written, with giant letterheads that had wood cut prints of the company's logo or building, from somewhere in the 1880s.
@Mark Hard to tell with the image sized down for the web, but it was dated as well as stamped on 9/7/1945, you can kind of see it on the bottom.
