I've lived in my house almost a quarter century. There is a house on the corner that has never been lived in. The story there is, the lady that owns it moved in with her boyfriend, and wants to keep the house as an exit strategy if things don't work out. Recently I noticed that the city has come by and shut the water off ( yup, after 20+ years ) because of a leak. How large of a leak do you need to have before the water department notices? I'm thinking that's it for the basement goods. Lastly, looks like the roof around the fireplace is rotted away.

Other than the one little print earlier, seems like no evidence of art on the walls whatsoever. Not here, not in the entryway.

The spindles on the staircase - look a bit odd, like they don't quite touch the top rail. I see they jut out from the side of the stairs verses going straight up from the stairs.

I am curious about the back story of why this house was abandoned.

Is that graffiti on the wall? I see red, white and orange writing, but not enough to know what it is.
