Motts is correct, and now we know why the house was abruptly abandoned. This is a map of radio and radar waves, disguised to look like a dress pattern. The family were obviously spies ( possibly for the mob, the reds, the CIA, or some other shadowy government agency ). The Bozo the Clown mask in the drawer above is also a dead give-a-way.

Ditto Mica, it does look extraordinarily clean. Dig the pattern on the red/blue on white paper. Possibly that is the envelope?

The molding is a bit of a let down after the lovely built-in and wainscoting downstairs. Looks like the underfloor there?

Soo, no art, just crucifix's occasionally stapled to the wall. Can't tell what the walls are. Doesn't look like lathe and plaster.
