I have some shots of this place as they were tearing it down. I've seen it for yrs. Wanted so bad to go in. But as you said in the opening its real busy. It used to sit in part of Boston's Hospital district. So thanks again for the peek.

I want to thank you for a peek inside. When I stayed in the building left of the old hospital (the 1950's style one). I would lookout the day room window and would see curtains blowing out the windows(1998). I wanted so badly to grab my camera and go in for a look. I share your love of old buildings. I have about 20 yrs. worth. of pic. So many are gone now but thanks to people like yourself we can enjoy them for yrs to come. But people REMEMBER just don't head into an old building because you think it is easy to do. You could die or end up in jail. The pic.s here are all you nd. sit back and enjoy.

When I was a kid, we learned the Danvers State Hospital theme song - not sure who taught it to us. It went like this:

This is obviously the height of insensitivity and political incorrectness, but decades ago, people didn't think twice about it, especially kids - who don't know any better
