Oh, yeah. There's a place in this world for Disney, and there's a place for places like Canobie Lake and Camden Park. I aawyls get a kick out of the breaking system on the Haunted House at Camden Park a big guy with a strong back who jumps in front of your car. You know, in all these years, I've never heard of anyone getting run over.
I'd stay there if it were done properly: if the siiprt of the project were to reclaim Germany's history from the shadow of the Nazis, and to rehabilitate and take back, to transform something awful into something hopeful and healthy, then yes. If it were turned into some kind of weird Nazi museum or memorial, then no.
my husband was born in this hospital in 1946. his mother told me the lady in the bed next to her was upset because she was "in a room with a jew."
hopefully things have changed in the city of brotherly love.

Ah... and most of the old buildings on the campus used to have (some still have) these cute little balconies. In summer we spent our breaks from work there with coffee and a strictly forbidden cigarette.
Wow. Actually this seems ages ago.
I am very interested in the history of hospitals and know every single in Berlin - abandoned or in use.
Thank you for all of these beautiful photos!
This looks kind of familiar to me, but I can't tell which building this is. I used to work at the DRK Kliniken Westend and attended nursing school there ten years ago. Although this campus is really interesting and rich in history (the famous German poet Gottfried Benn used to work there as a doctor) most of the buildings are still in use. Not far away from Westend Hospital near Schloss Charlottenburg is the old gynecological hospital which was abandoned a couple of years ago and all wards were moved to the Westend Campus. But one can still sneak in and think of all the babys born there. I was one of them...
