The decay looks the same all over the world, but with those metal mesh shutters it is drier and less moldy and mossy. Like the bright whiteness in this shot and those very square tiled openings. All those shiny tiles; tiles last. Hmmmm wondering if the ceiling is tiled as well? Good picture! Be well, Mr. Motts!

I work on the NASA Crawler we have 4 of these engines still in operation ,it is a White Superior 40-sx-8.It isa 10 1/2 stroke 1073hp engine 900rpm max.They are very good engines.They were put in the crawler in 1964 and have been running ever since.

When visiting my grandmother (60&70;'s), pts would yell at us through the bars as we walked up. Hated this horrible place!! And yes horrible things went on here........................

Agree totally with "a sad granddaughter". Those are the memories I have as I was a granddaughter as well. My grandmother died their in 79. Horrible memories visiting her and still gives me the chills when I hear that name!!

Wow! Never saw a condensate re-heating system before. The four pipes on either side of the ceiling conduct steam condensate from the radiators on the upper floors to the Boilers. They are not insulated so that they may release more heat to the lower levels. From what I have read, it worked out pretty good.

I know that tyou could not trim the braches of the right side tree, but that would have made a really wild picture. I know that you did the best that you could since you follow the rules.

Judging from the # of sections in the radiator and the vault curvacure I would guess that about 4 residents lived in this space. Wow, they were being treated with kid gloves!!

I like the steam radiators, three in that little corner....Hmmmm, must have been a fairly large size room on an alcove....Motts?????
