WHAT A PEEL! It looks like wallpaper - but it is not!
Have no idea if it´s green on blue, or the other way around.
That is a good picture. Best wished.
Ohhhh - one of those old ones with the nice warm glow! Lamp FTW!
Breath-taking! Thank you for the Wallpaper.
On Google Earth pic.2011 it is still there, with signs of something going on around it. For awhile roof was covered in plastic, and there is scaffolding, and a fence.
Great picture! Best wishes.
Fun Lamps! Bet they lighted up very nicely and were dimmable, too. :)

Classic. Timeless!
Could be 150 yrs. or 1050 yrs. Thank you for this picture. Love it!
So Cool!!! Only in USA and NY; a ruin of a hospital just sitting there on the island.
May you always be well is my wish.

These were most likely the disciplinary segregation cells. (the Hole) In most older facilities they are located outside the main units. The point of seg is to separate the trouble inmates from the G.P.

Judging from the picture I would say this was an iaolation watch cell. Detention cells in the old places were very small and dark away from the sight and sounds of the genral population. ( The Hole) This by looks would have been use for an inmate under closed watch for a multitude of reasons. From self harm to hidden contraband.
My biggest fear.... being trapped in a place like that!!! No windows, no light, Help!!

If it wasn't for the lonely chair, it would be easy to think that the photo was upside down. I don't think I'd be trusting that ceiling!!

Love the title of this pic!

The rotunda is the only part left of the building. The Tower was the only other structure standing as of 2012, but they're in the process of tearing that down too. A plaque like monument stands now near the rotunda about WSH.

so $0.04 for lb of iron. standard prison bar of about 7/8 inch, that is about 2 lb per foot think average of 7 foot length. The looks to be about 24 bars in each removed section so... $78 bucks in scrap. if steel at around $0.20 then $390 for it.
Timeless! Very spectacular. Love very much indeed.
Love it! Absolutely good three windows! A fine light room back in the days.
