Interesting comment. However, it was the entire old wing aka "the back wards" that were reserved for more disturbed patients until it was all re-organized in the early 1970's.
Motts, for you to have been shooting into the sun here, the photo sure turned out beautifully! Thanks for another wonderful gallery! I'm definitely hooked on your ''visual art'' now, and am looking forward to your next gallery with great anticipation.
Wow. The inner workings of old clocks surely are à thing of beauty! Motts, thanks for going up in the clock tower to get this shot! I, too, am curious about if the clock in the clock tower still works.
Hey, autoguy! Do you like mustard as chip-dip? : ) Can anyone imagine having to live or work in a place day in and day out that has puke mustard colored walls? If I were depressed that would make me more depressed, I think!
Turquoise and cream, the wall........keep staring............have no idea which layer was first. May be the cream...or is it light pink?
Awesome picture.
Return to Verden. I love Verden.
How awesome was that, Motts!? Someone knew you were coming! Maybe the beady-eyed security guard figured out who you were, and knew you'd be back! Maybe he's a secret fan...Now that's a scary thought!!!
Now this would be a nice calming hallway, except for the fact there would be large bars in my face every time I turned towards a window! But, anyway, nice photo, Motts, showing us the different paint colors & architecture in this place.
It amazes me how the paint on the left side of the ceiling can look in such good shape, and yet the paint has fallen off the right side wall AND the wall itself looks like it could collapse soon. I guess that's water damage for you!
Eewww!!! I seriously doubt an Architect designed this place! Perhaps, someone like a Civil Engineer designed this buildiing, instead? Civil Engineers design things like sewer systems! : D
