Christina, I believe that spending "forever" in one of these rooms is a far better alternative then living on the streets and being abused and maltreated by the general public. At least here one had shelter, food and care - somewhat.
And you'll clean the durned lightbulb off at the same time with all that nice soap! ;-)
StacyMarie, my dear, haven't you ever seen a picture of Big Foot? I could manufacture a "photo" in 5 minutes that would turn that soap dispenser into a lovely light fixture - and how could anyone refute THAT lovely photographic evidence? ;-)
What's with the coming onto someone's site and making rude, unsolicited comments while forgetting basic grammar, punctuation, manners, and showing an obvious lack of awareness that some people have a wider appreciation of aesthetics, yet at the same time making yourself an object of scorn, derision and pity? :-)
You're right, rich, in some ways I am lucky - but around where I live this is actually quite uncommon. Around where I am, things are pretty much the same...I would assume the property the house stands on is still under possesion of its previous owner - why it hasn't been leveled (perhaps it has by now, I don't get out that way often) I don't know. It could very well be the ground is evil after all the horrible things that happened there. I know I wouldn't have lived there and I wouldn't want to live next door either. Since the building is a neighborhood lot, there really isn't anything that could be done with it. I doubt many people jump at the chance to build a house there with the place's history. Otherwise, for the most part, urban development has immediately torn down recently abandoned buildings, and the town itself is careful to do so as well so as to keep a good image.
