The paint looks quite fresh......
Very foreboding..... I'm reminded of a shot from Pink Floyd's The Wall.
This reminds me of some of the fantasy sets from the movie Labrynth. Beautiful. Hard to believe it's purpose was related to war.
I was in Dresden (Germany) in the early 80's, and a large part of the city center was still gutted from the firestorm bombing from the Second World War. Many of the buildings resembled this, exactly.
Another very impressive shot. One gets the impression that the walls are closing in, and that there is no escape.
The architecture is fascinating - it looks like large bolts embedded within the facade.
Excellent shot. Reminds me of Angkor (Cambodia)
If memory serves me correctly, this is where all the Army surplus Krag-Jorgensen rifles were sent, after the Spanish-American war. The Krags were replaced by the (WWI) Springfield 03-A3.
I agree with weasel and LI Irish; this pic is something out of the opening, say, of a Gothic horror film. Startling.
Excellent colour contrast in this one. Well done.
Reminds me of old shots of Eastern State Prison, outside Philadelphia. (Also abandoned)
For some reason, this especially seems to be a still from some horror flic.
Very nice artistic shot. The angle is quite perfect.
This one's a bit surreal. There's an almost exact copy of this picture (or this is a copy of the other), taken at the end of WWII, in Changi POW camp, in Singapore.
