I spent a brief time working at hte Queens Centers for Progress.
It is sad to see that people are so quick to judge. Although the people that we care for are disabled they were still able to comunicate in their own way once you as your own person took the time to try to understand. QCP also has a work program, day treatment and in-house treatment facilities. It was by far the most rewarding job that I at 28 have had (I was also a Marine). I am not only lucky to have known the people and residents but will remember them forever.
Thank you Neal for bringing everyone closer to the truth. People are really just well, people.

Wow.. seeing that brings back some memories. I remember going to Rocky Point when I was a teenager (wont say how long ago that was :-S) with my stepmother to be the gold digger and my father, We went on this ride and my stepmother was so scared even though at it highest point it was only about 10 ft off the ground, She screame at the top of her lungs clinging so hard to my father he had almost instant bruising when we were able to undo her death grip...lmfao

ok anything that could possably stick out from the slat at the bottom of the door that could expell body fluids would be fair game to my boots.. Call me abusive, I myself have worn every body fluid known to man ......but........yuck.. the thought of some poor lost soul that has been stuck in a little room with probibly only a bed pan and no shower for god knows how long trying to launch body fluids on me just seriously grosses me out
