MadNic-are you Nicola that worked in the main hall early 1980's? If so, I used to work with you...

There was a full time diversional therapy worker in the pottery and patients would make a variety of items often using slip clay and moulds. I used to be placed here when the main worker was absent and loved being there. You're right that the patients didn't use the kin themselves but to be fair many of them were more than capable of doing so, particularly the day patients that came here. The lad that worked here did the mural work on the pottery wall and probably a lot more after I left. I also did some mural work here and in the pool area in the early 1980's but that will be long gone!

I worked at CKH in 1980's and remember seeing this artist at work. There were also two large paintings in the Main Hall underneath here but I haven't seen any photographs of them. Some beautiful images here but it's so sad to see how the building has been left to deteriorate.
Remember many good times working here....

A nesting ground for pigeons and their disease, I'm sure. Great shot.

I wonder how many patients tumbled down or were pushed down these stairs.

Could you even breathe in here?

This reminds me of the old prisons I worked at in Connecticut.

Fantastic shot. I can only imagine the mold spores in this place.

Have you seen any ghosts?

THey tore this down? How tragic. It could have been renovated. It's such a beautiful building outside.

Asbestos, anyone?

That's probably blood on the mattress, or mold.
