Tragic. At least they haven't torn the building down yet, but still... ...shoddy renovations are typically why these great buildings end up being abandoned in the first place. Tragic...
Don't know if anyone else posted this, but Dollywood has a great looking dark ride coming next year. Can't wait, I LOVE dark rides. http://www.dollywood.com/mmine/default.htm
You know, it's not the "dead people" aspect that scares me. I would be scared in this building because of the living whackos that could be there. It's not the dead that will hurt you, it's the living ones I look out for!
And , by the way, barium is less expensive than lead, here in Germany, all walls are covered in barium sulphate(the stuff that a radoiologist gives you to drink when x-raying your stomach
only in therapy rooms walls are lined with lead. in x-ray diagnostic the beam is very weak. Belive me, I am a radiologist so I do not say stupid things( sorry for mistakes I made when writing, I am from Germany and I dont speak English wery well)
I have 4 working x-ray machine assembled by myself and I can assure you that neither one contains radioactive material.Only SOME doors are sheilded with lead foil. X-rays are strictly man-made , no radioactive isotopes needed.
Yeah this place gives off a creepy vibe at night. The tunnels just seem to go on forever. There was a chair in a tunnel with blood all over the tray and a room under the kitchen that had a spread out area of what definetly appeared to be blood. No to hijack motts work but you guys can appreciate a music video I made of our trip within the bowels of this place. http://media.putfile.com/Dever-Asylum
The cover looks like it's right off to the right of the whole. I am sure at one point some one took it off to peak down. It should be covered up though.
wow. this photograph is an inspiration to any one who has had to face up to their deamons in a time of crisis. I also get an optimitsic feeling about it, like the ending scene of "The Wall: The Movie."
