I was raised in that area. My parents took me to Mass there from time to time. we had to be very very quiet and I always wore a veil. I could see where we would sit in the picture with the pews. It was very moving for me to see these pictures.

I found an article yesterday on the Yahoo page about this place...i had to see more!! From what I learned yesterday this was one of the Withdrawl rooms they put patients in as they came to the place..they had a nurses window to observe them..once they withdrew the drugs from theyre systems, they would be allowed to go in to the regular population..I feel very fortunate to have found this plase...captivating!!

Just to let you know that Diane Odell, age 61, of Jackson, TN died yesterday after being confined to an iron lung since age 3. Her parents, now in their 80's, were so dedicated to caring for her. You can read articles in our local newspaper at jacksonsun.com

I've seen this type of chair used to draw blood. The piece on the desk moves so the patient's arm can be positioned different ways.

Many years ago, blood was collected and stored in containers similar to this. Due to the rate at which blood decomposes and that fact that it turns black, I'll venture that the liquid in the bottom is rust (although the blood theory sounds more fascinating ).

We still use a gas powered generator similar to this where I work ( and we still do monthly maintenance on it). Parts are a b!$@h to get though.
